City Adding Storm Sewer System to W. North Street

S.R. 220 Slated For Closure In Waverly

Chillicothe – Working in conjunction with the city of Waverly, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Pike County Highway Maintenance Facility will close eastbound state Route 220 in the coming week for a rehabilitation project in the city.
        On Monday, September 11, the route will be close d between Ford Avenue and Wickle Drive, west of downtown Waverly, where contractors will be relocating utilities, creating a storm water system and installing curbs and gutters.
        While eastbound S.R. 220 is closed, truck or through traffic will be detoured via state Route 551, state Route 104 and U.S. Route 23. Local or passenger vehicle traffic will be detoured by way of St. Mary’s Lane and Grandview Avenue. The project is not expected to affect westbound motorists, and the closure is expected to be in place for up to 50 days.
        DGM Incorporated of Beaver, Ohio, has been contracted to undertake the project for the city, and all work is scheduled to be completed by October 20, 2006.
