Income Tax Division
Purpose of Income Tax

The Income Tax Division provides administration of the City Income Ordinance.
The Income Tax Department’s function is to assure compliance with the Income
Tax Ordinance of the City by maintaining appropriate records with regard to the
imposition of the tax and the return and payment of the tax.

The current tax rate is 1% with credit allowed for taxes paid to other cities up to 1%. Filing a tax return is mandatory, whether the residents has taxable income or not.

The City of Waverly currently cannot accept electronic filing of tax returns. Even
if a preparer completes your Waverly Income Tax Return, the taxpayer is
responsible for submitting the completed return.
