Waverly Water Department consists of 3 separate functions
The City has successfully replaced the old 1931 Water Tower with a new 500,000-Gallon Spherical Tower. The project was funded through a grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission and a loan from the Ohio Water Development Authority. Jones and Henry Engineers, Ltd. Performed the engineering for the project while Chicago Bridge and Iron Co completed the construction. James McCourt is the Superintendent of the Water treatment plant.
The City of Waverly Distribution Department recently added 5,700 linear feet of waterline along the southern portion of the US 23 Corridor in Waverly. This addition properly loops the City's water system while adding increased pressure, better fire protection and incentive for future development along the corridor. Approximately 1000 feet of this waterline was placed along the right of way for the soon to be constructed Pride Drive. A second phase of the project to be completed in May, will include the addition of 2,156 linear feet of sewer line along 2nd Street in order to serve the YMCA, and connecting into a sewer line to be built along side the previously mentioned Pride Drive. A large portion of the funding needed for this project was acquired with a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission, while the remaining balance came from the City Water and Sewer Fund. Larry Chitwood is the Superintendent of Distribution.
John Voorhes is the Superintendent of the Waste Water Treatment Plant |
